1954 foundation stone
Sister Bernadette Corboy St Patrick's Day 1992
The current Administration building designed by Australian architects L.P. Burns and T.M. Malonney was purpose built between 1954 and 1956 for the Sisters of the Good Samaritan OSB to expand the campus of St. John’s Preparatory College “Westview”. The foundation stone, which is currently located in St. Patrick’s College boardroom was blessed in 1954 by His Lordship Bishop Carroll Auxilliary TC and His Eminence Cardinal Gilroy Archbishop of Sydney.
On St Patrick's Day 1992 Sister Bernadette Corboy, Provincial of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan OSB, unveiled the plaque officially naming the building "Good Samaritan Wing".
The rich symbolism of the crest is derived from the Order of St. Benedict.
The open book of the Scriptures with the Cross resting on it symbolises God's Word and prayer as central to the life of each Sister.
The olive branch above the book is the symbol of the peace which Christ has promised to all who faithfully serve him; the well-known Bendictine PAX.
The scroll bears the Latin words "In omnibus glorificetur Deus", reminding us in the words of St Peter (1 Pet 4:11) that we should so live and act that:
In all things may God be glorified.
