Key Elements of Historical fiction:

Narratives portray a specific historical time, time period or historical event - As such, these stories are context specific and therefore carefully researched - Even though the time, era or event is real, individual characters and voices can be fictitious, or real life people an be reimagined or reinvented


Language Features of Historical fiction:

Use of past tense - Descriptive, historically accurate portrayals of specific times and places from the past - Narrative voice can take any form - first person or omniscient
