HSIE - Commerce - Year 10 - Employment and Work Futures: Evaluating Websites

A selection of resources to support Year 10 Commerce students with their assessment

CRAP test

The best way to assess the quality of information found online - whether it's a website, YouTube video or podcast - is to apply the C.R.A.P test :

C - Currency - When was the website information last updated? Is the information current?

R - Relevancy How relevant / accurate is the information to your task?
A - Authority Who is the author of the website’s information? What are their qualifications? Can the author be trusted?

P - Purpose Why does the website exists? Was it created to sell or persuade? Think about biases.
