What is a family?

The typical family

There are more than 6 million families in Australia, and our view  of the 'Typical family' (mum, dad and two kids) is often not the case. The nuclear family is not the true nature of the Australian family. Families are diverse and each person sees family differently. Family life can be complex and challenging, yet it is central to the lives of many individuals.
