People with disability in Australia : Employment
While 90% of working-age (aged 15–64) people with disability in the labour force are employed, others face challenges seeking and engaging in employment. This is reflected in their generally lower rates of labour force participation and employment, and higher rates of unemployment, compared with working-age people without disability.

Human Rights Commission: 9 Barriers to Employment
Australians with disability can face a range of individual and structural barriers at different stages of employment including recruitment, retention and re-entering the workforce. Certain groups within the community may experience discrimination on the basis of their disability differently from others, for example, older people, women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and LGBTI people.

Employer Incentives and Financial Assistance
The Australian Government strongly encourages all employers to consider employing people with disability. There are several programs which may assist employers with any financial cost associated with employing people with disability.
