Exploration

With a brief section on early Dutch explorers and Captain Cook, the majority of the program is devoted to the stories of Bass and Flinders, Burke and Wills, and John McDouall Stuart. We look at the obstacles that the explorers faced, including the constant battle against scurvy, the food they ate, and why they succeeded or failed. We also look at the implications of their journeys, and how they have affected modern Australian life.
