Note: For the 2021 Challenge you can watch these videos with the subtitles on (click on settings to turn the subtitles on) and then count any of these books as a Choice book. All students are permitted to read 10 Choice books this year.

Diary of a Wombat

Meet the naughtiest wombat in Australia as homegrown queen of children’s entertainment Justine Clarke reads the award-winning picture book by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley.

Sidney Opera Mouse

Zindzi Okenyo reads Sidney Opera Mouse written by Graham Hosking and illustrated by Inky Stone,

Bin Chicken

Join Australian actress and Survivor contestant Pia Miranda as she reads the quintessential Australian story about the Ibis - aka Bin Chicken - one of the great survivors of the sky. Written by Jol Temple and Kate Temple, and illustrated by Ronojoy Ghosh.

Lights Out, Leonard

Author and singer-songwriter Josh Pyke reads his own book, LIGHTS OUT, LEONARD, with illustrations by Chris Nixon.

Kissed by the Moon

Classic picture book KISSED BY THE MOON read aloud by author of THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME, Monica McInerney.

Where the Wild Things Are

One night Max puts on his wolf suit and makes mischief of one kind and another, so his mother calls him 'Wild Thing' and sends him to bed without his supper. That night a forest begins to grow in Max's room and an ocean rushes by with a boat to take Max to the place where the wild things are. Max tames the wild things and crowns himself as their king, and then the wild rumpus begins.
